IATSE Local
Union No. 42, organized December 6, 1896, represents
professional stagehands in the Omaha metropolitan area
(including Council Bluffs), and Sioux City, Iowa. Local 42
supplies professional labor for a wide array of
productions; from rock concerts to Broadway shows, trade
shows to films.
Our expertise includes theatre and arena rigging;
conventional and intelligent lighting equipment; audio and
video packages; set and scenery construction/assembly;
installation of theatre counterweight and fly systems;
follow spotlight operation, maintenance and repair; trade
show decoration and display installation, from small
corporate meetings to national shows; and television and
film crews.
Members of Local Union No. 42 have toured all across the
United States and around the world working productions in
numerous cities and venues. Our members have worked on
several films, including, Too Wong Foo Thanks for
Everything, Julie Newmar (1995), The Christmas
Angel: A Story on Ice (1998), and About Schmidt
(2002).
